Duties of Proffered Position

• Pitch the pre-selected projects to investors in Asia/China and in the U.S. and understand their expectations in movie investment or production. Secure project funds from investors. Set

the budget and approve any major changes to the project. Approve the financial aspects of a production. Ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget. (30% of the total time)

• Select scripts or topics for a film. Lead audition and select cast members. Study and research scripts to determine how they should be directed. Communicate to actors the approach,

characterization, and movement needed for each scene in such a way that rehearsals and takes are minimized. Plan details such as framing, composition, camera movement, sound, and

actor movement for each shot or scene. Supervise and coordinate the work of camera, lighting, design, and sound crew members. Work with set designers, costume designers, location

scouts, and art directors to build a project’s set. Work with all the other members who are working on the film project to make sure that the final product comes out the way envisioned.

(35% of the total time)

• Oversee the production process, including performances, lighting, and choreography. Oversee the postproduction process, including editing, special effects, music selection, and a

performance’s overall tone. (20% of the total time)

• Promote finished works or productions through interviews, advertisements, and film festivals. (15% of the total time)
